Transfer case shifter with body lift

My transfer case shifter will not go into 4 high because of the 3" body lift. The angle is to great. It goes into low but the plate has been cut out to allow it. It currently has no boots just open to the ground. What options do I have to correct this, without having to cut the floor open and fabricate something?

Re: Transfer case shifter with body lift

you have too open up the hole a bit or take the shift rod out and heat it and bend it up a little to get the clearance if you open the hole up just get a bigger shift boot for it

jeep the first 4 wheel drive the only 4 wheel drive

Junkyards are full of nice shifter boots, $5 max.

Re: Transfer case shifter with body lift

You'll have to open the hole up some. The problem is that since your up higher on the shifter, the throw is longer. Yiu can bend the handle all you want........you'll still have to cut the floor. I had to even on my 2".

Re: Transfer case shifter with body lift

That's what I figured. I was hoping that there was a trick I didn't know about that would work.
