Re: Acme truck parts
Well, Acme has been the historic army surplus parts dealer in Stockton since WWII was over. I can remember going in there as a kid with my Dad and they had half tracks lined up hub to hub all the way down the block and even farther. They took army DUKS and stripped the boat hulls off to get att he six-by-six chassis underneath so they could make trucks to sell. That was in the early fifties. Later on I bought six-by-six and four-by-four army truck parts from them, including transfer cases and main boxes. I haven't been in there in YEARS. The last thing I bought was an army transfer case to replace one which had been driven daily in FWD and had every bearing fit wiped out. At that time they were doing a good business in rebuilt trannies and X-fer cases. I used to get their catalog. I suppose it is just like anything else, no great hot deals will be found there; they DEFINITELY know what things are worth.
