update on extreme 5-297x joint

mike took his axle out on friday- to see how things were doing - first off the outer 19 spline axle (warns 4140 ) was twisted at spline- and the 4 bushings in the caps were all worn and sad looking - so were faced with making a closer tolerance bushing or maybe a different material- keeping ya all posted - the body of the joint survived well- that's the expensive part-

My thoughts exactly. When will these be available, and what kind of price?

Re: update on extreme 5-297x joint

He had them posted over to Pirate 4x4 with some awesome pics, I think they were $149 each if memory serves. While it may seem steep at first, think about when the normal joint grenades, it usually takes both shafts with it. He also said he'd like to reiterate these are not for driving on the road as a daily driver, they are for wheeling, but will take a TON of abuse. In fact, I don't think he's broken one yet, even with a full sized Blazer with 44's spinning just the front end on concrete.

Sorry to steal Jesse's thunder, but I know he's a busy guy between making and trying to break these.

Re: update on extreme 5-297x joint

That is what I was looking for. I was afraid that that is what was going to happen.

Jessie-I can't remember the site, but I have seen needle berings that could be bought separtly, in many different sizes. Maybe your answer is not to try to create an new answer, but to apply an old answer.
