What did I do wrong with this clutch

A friend and I replaced the clutch yesterday and when we got it back together the pedal goes half way to the floor before I can feel any pressure from the throwout bearing pressing the pressure plate fingers...by the time I get to the floor I have not pushed the clutch far enough work and the adjuster screw is all the way out! I dont get it. I was pretty sure I have the right clutch...I compared it to the old one before installing. I am hoping there is an adjustment somewhere that I am missing, but I am afraid not...on a 78 CJ I think there is only the adjuster screw underneath. Has anyone else ever had this happen? (non-hydraulic)

i would guess that you put it in backwards.. that worthless sticker is kinda confusing as to the way it goes

it's sort of still a cj thingy....

Make sure you check both ends of the adjuster, both ends are adjustable. I had the same problem when I put in my new clutch.
