where to get non lift shackles

I was wandering where I could get non lift shackles that have the cross piece like the lift shackles. At a reasonable price of course!

Re: where to get non lift shackles

Best way to do it is just get you some pieces of steel and make some. I'd just leave the center peice out if you use some rugged 3/8 stuff for the sides. I went to the local steel yard and had them cut 8 pieces (to do whole jeep) to a specified length, I took them home and rounded them off and drilled the holes. Cost me $10 I think.

Don't get the Dick Cepek ones. They are rectangle shaped and the bumpers need to be drilled out for clearance. I would some with rounded ends. I believe Currie makes some.

ConFerr's shortest ones are only 3/8" longer than stock.

I built my own also. Nothing to it. Very heavy duty and almost free.

Re: where to get non lift shackles

A 3/8" lift shackle is better than stock because it allows for more articulation, the stock shackes limit it. With more than a 3/8" inch lift shackle it may cause steering problems and such though. So if you want more flex, you might as well go with the 3/8s
