TJ flares on the front of a CJ

Okay, has anyone done this on a CJ??? I needed more clearance on my 77CJ7 so I opted for TJ flares. I've got the rear done, but the front looks like it could be a mess. What do I do about the inner fenderwell? I've got to cut so much of the outer fender out that I'll be far behind the inner fender's normal location. I want to have the inner fender because I want to keep mud out of the engine bay. How did you brace the inner fender and/or tie it in to the outer fender?
Thanks for any input.

off-road.com has a write up about it. I forget where it is. I will be doing same setup real soon. I have seen people just break the weld and push the innner fender in a little. Enough to mount the flare.

Take a look and you will find a green cj with Xenon Flares.

Thanks JW,
Just what I needed. Should've looked before I asked...I thought I was getting smarter...I asked before I cut, thats at least some improvement

Re: TJ flares on the front of a CJ

I have the write up on my web site, You can just bust the spot welds, then fab a new croos brase from the fire wall to the inside of the fender well.
