Alternator wiring

I need some alternator help. I'm rewiring my Jeep and I had a brain fort when I got to the alternator part.

I have a Delco alt. with a large BAT terminal and 2 1/4" quick connect tabs labeled 1 and 2.

I don't have any old schematics but as I remember term 2 or the Field connects directly to the BAT term and term 1 or the Relay connects to the switched ignition source thru the alt. idiot light.

Is this correct ... cause if it ain't I'll probably need to buy at least one new can of smoke when I fire that puppy up.

Later
