Guage probs

Yet one more prob to be troubleshot on my baby.....shortly after acquiring my Jeep last July (it has a fiberglass body) all the guages quit...they worked for a while...and then one day just all died. The fuel, temp, oil pressure guages are stuck at empty/zero, the heater doesn't turn on anymore, pretty much all kaput except for the speedo, since it's mechanical. Any suggestions?

Re: Guage probs

Finding a good ground is harder with a glass body because you basicly have to go to the frame of run a grounding strap up from the frame. Always start simple. Has anything else quit working? Check the guages with jumper wires to find out if the ground wire has come off on you.
If that doesn't work let me know, I'll try to think of something else. What kind of wiring job was done when the glass tub went on?

Re: Guage probs

I would say it is the ground also. Not sure on how to ground a fiberglass tub, but I know that it is a little more difficult, so make sure you have a good ground, if that isn't it, update us, I bet we can think of something.

Re: Guage probs

Although I haven't really a clue what would be wrong, checking if you have a good ground since it's a glass body would be a very good start. Although, you've probably already read the other guys post and I'm just trying to jump on the wagon and look a little smart
