rock crusher vs xenon flares.

Hi, I need some extended flares so I will stop being stoped by the cops!! I know the xenon are the best and I have seen a set, but I noticed the rock crusher which are the same size and made out of the poyurethane which are 80 dollars less. I live in maine so it is cold here in the winter, so I can't have them crack like some companys. Should I buy the xenon or save the cash and get the rock crusher? Does anyone use the rock crusher? thanks Mike

Re: rock crusher vs xenon flares.

I bought the Xenon extra wide falres and installed them in 1996. I lived in the interior of Alaska from 1995-1999 and they have held up to temperatures as low as -65.

They still look great, with no cracks, or deformity.

They are great flares and you will be happy with them.

In my opinion, You get what you pay for. HTH

I have the Xenon too, and love them. I've had them on since 1995 with no problems at all. Buck out the cash and do it once!!

I don't know how these hold up in the cold, but it's what i'm gonna buy for my 2000. This is the cheapest i've found them. Other places have sold them for up to $270. I know it's not the brand you're looking at, but they are cheaper.http://65.4.138.47/FMPro?-token=&-db...info.htm&-find

Re: rock crusher vs xenon flares.

The Xenon are same material as factory flares, my factory flares are like band new, But I replaced them with Xenon 6" flares for the TJ for better tire clearance. One hint of advice, stay away from Steel Horse. I have never heard anything good about their products except they are cheep. Polystyrene that they use WILL crack in the cold, there stainless steel rusts, etc. Go with Xenon or even Warn. I believe Bushwacker and a few others are also starting to make them now also, however, I do not have experience with the other companies.

good luck.

Re: rock crusher vs xenon flares.

I don't have any experience with either of the flares you mention, but I have have had a set of Bushwackers and they broke the first time I whacked a bush, well actually it was a tree. Anyway, Bestop now has a set of flares out that are cheaper than the Xenon's and look really nice. Worth taking a looksee anyway.

Re: rock crusher vs xenon flares.

That's for the advice ralph, i was about a week away from buying those steel horse flares. If there's one thing i have learned, it's to save your money until you can buy quality stuff or you'll end up spending twice as much.
