Dual Bat for Hoosierjeepr

OK, here's the dual battery schematic. I know there was (and has been) alot of discussion on this. This diagram represents the way I wired my CJ5 based ideas from CJ Dave and TeamRush. I may post others as I develop them.

I have to tell you, guys......those diagrams are a thing of beauty. Isn't simplicity wonderful! To think that my original design would be running the Indy-annointed backroads of Middle America almost chokes me up...(sniff).... Hoosier.....if you study those designs, you will understand that you connect the battery-draining stuf to the second battery; like your huge, 1950's vintage coffe-grinder HAM radio, and the 12V cold box, and the wife's 12V hair dryer. If you run the second battery down, no problem.....you crank up with the "isolated" first battery and when oil pressure comes up, you can recharge the #2 battery on the way home. If your Jeep is at home and little nephew Leroy is playing in it, and leaves the headlights on, you can crank up using the #2 battery as a booster by pushing the dash-mounted momentary-contact button to connect the #2 battery. So you see, Hoos, you are covered. Now, go get the new JCWhitney catalog and get a 12V cold box and a 12V hair dryer.

Re: Dual Bat for Hoosierjeepr

Tested mine Saturday. My little four year old jeeper was playing in the jeep Friday while I was working in the garage. Anyway, the next day I got in to move it and dead battery. Let me tell you it was nothing to just reach over and hold that little red momentary switch and turn the key again. Two seconds, I didn't even bother to take my foot off the clutch pedal between tries. Really this is a cool set-up. And Dave, thanks for the compliment.
