Re: Shipping Tires

Harry......(the infamous Harry B.) says that Amtrak is the cheapest way to ship tires. This apparently gets them from major (not all that major) city to city. I believe this is a "pick up a the terminal type of thingie. They have a web site. Single items over 100 lbs (or was it 150) must be skid loaded. I imagine that tires can just go as individual items. Greyhound may also serve your needs.

If they're not on rims, you can use UPS, although the above methods may be cheaper.

Re: Shipping Tires

If you ship them loose, they may get scuffed up a little on the sidewalls, but no damage. We used to get a lot of complaints from guys with show cars that had their tires shipped by truck. Their white walls got dirty and they had to clean them! Some claimed they couldn't get them clean. Make sure they're labelled well, too.
