shackle Question

i am in a quandry as to the pros and cons over welded or non welded shackles
i can see that non welded shackles will articulate more (better?) but does that effect stability. it seems like it would.
the welded shackles are obviously stronger but again less flexible and most seem too tight when initially installed.
well anyone have input, opinions on this one??

thanx

Re: shackle Question

I prefer the nonwelded and the greasable. My reasoning is that (as you stated) the nonwelded seem to articulate better and the greasable bolts help that even more.

Re: shackle Question

what about doing something like the currie shackles with the bolt-in cross-brace. bolt it in for the road, take it out for the trail? just and idea i thought you could use.
