2200? My 6-cyl CJ5 weighs almost 4,000 with a winch and heavy tire carrier/bumper.

Re: how much does my cj weigh

Here in Oregon, you can just swing into a state truck scale and check for free. They tend to be found on interstates and state highways. My Miata weighed 2550 with my wife and I and a bunch of beach stuff in the trunk (well, a blanket and birkenstocks). 120 hp, I can keep up just fine with most mustangs (except the new Cobra R) and vettes, specially on corners, but I am probably a better driver than most. Raw power can be detrimental if you don't know how to apply it. For acceleration/ drag racing, you need lots of dynamic horsepower, not brake horsepower. Dynamic actually takes into account how long it takes your flywheel, etc to spin up. Check out for some good stuff on performance.

Re: how much does my cj weigh

here's an idea to find out your weight....
go to a place where you can buy sand or gravel....when you buy sand or gravel, they first weigh your truck, you then load up with your goods, they then weigh the truck with the sand/gravel in it, and subtract the original weight from the loaded truck, and then they know how much sand/gravel you are buying.... ask them if they'll weigh might want to offer the guy a few bucks or a sixer for his time. good luck

Re: how much does my cj weigh

As already suggested your local rock suplier is a good idea. just ask and mostlikely no charge.

You also might try a search there have been several posts on this.
Here is one post that I book marked.

Hope this is some help.
