It was back in the days when hoods opened from the side, and the engines had NOTHING on top of them except a teensy little carb and air cleaner. We used one of theose on our '36 Dodge pickup, our '35 Ford pickup, our '51 Dodge pickup, and our '57 dodge flathead six. Using them on a modern OHV engine where the plugs are hard to get to would be the pits. People thought those were dangerous because they pumped fuel-laden air, but that wasn't true. The fitting that you screwed into the head was also the inlet check valve and they only pumped clean, cool, fresh air.[img]/wwwthreads_images/icons/smile.gif[/img]
