Eastern BBS Jamboree. Location?

I suppose everyone on the East Coast should be able to reach a central location like Tellico? Isn't that about 500 miles from Florida, and about 500 miles from Maine?

Any other suggestions on location? How about suggestions on the date? we dont have to have all the Jamborees on the same weekend ya know.

What are the accomodations in the area, camping, hotels, etc. that are large enough for the whole group?

Re: Eastern BBS Jamboree. Location?

Well, I'm 250 miles into Maine once you hit the border, same with Scram.

Not sure about Tellico, I'll have to look it up, what town is near it? What about Paragon, anything good there to run? Towing is towing I suppose, what's another few hundred miles?

Re: Eastern BBS Jamboree. Location?

Paragon would be a much better choice. Tellico is like 15 hour drive from NJ, so that would put you at well over 20 hours from Maine. Tellico would be good if your going for the week, but not for a day or even a weekend. Paragon has some good rocks that would be fun for even the most advanced wheeler.

Re: Eastern BBS Jamboree. Location?

I think we are going to have 2 eastern runs. I know that alot of us in the Southeast(including myself) are not going to drive up to Paragon. It is a 10 hour drive from my home in AL to Tellico(could you imagine the poor folks from FL, LA, or TX?). I don't even want to think about how long it would be to go to Paragon. If I went to Paragon, I might as well have went to Moab(just kiddin').

I am guessing that we need a Northeastern(Paragon) Jambo and a Southeastern(parts unknown, possibly Tellico) Jambo. I would also guess that there is enough interest to have a Heartland Jambo(OK, north TX, etc. etc.) and a Southwest run(CA, AZ, NM, UT, etc. etc.). Haven't seen many other places represented. This is a suggestion...have runs in Southeast, Northeast, Heartland, and Southwest...if you choose to go to a run further off then more power to ya.

If there are others in different parts of the country then speak up. Maybe there will be enough interest from others in your area to get another Jambo together.

Re: Eastern BBS Jamboree. Location?

i'm still voting for Paragon, (for the north eastern jeepers) this link http://www.paragonap.com/paragon.htm is to their site, it talks about hotels, camping, directions etc...
i've been there a few times and have a friend thats a guide, (you need one to wheel there) so i'm sure i could get us some good wheeling (all levels of wheeling are availible) it does cost $ to go, but we could work out a group deal i'm sure. they have their own BBS, that i seen other groups making plans on.

Re: Eastern BBS Jamboree. Location?

Thanks for the map. With the help of Microsoft Image Composer and Microsoft Pain, I came up with this picture to help everyone with the location of Tellico. I put the states that I think could make it there without too much hassle in yellow. It only takes 19 hours to drive from my house in central/south FL to my grandparents house in southern NJ. Four of those hourse are spent getting out of FL. How could it take 20 hours to get from NJ to Tellico?
