Brut Force U-Joints

Is anyone using these u-joints? The parts store said they had the normal ones for $7.50 and the Brut Force for $12.50, but that the Brut Force had a lifetime warranty ! I asked that if I ever broke another one would they replace them for free and he said yes . Sounds good to me!

I replaced mine w/brute force last year at the same time I pu in my new axles. They seem to be fine, I haven't had any trouble with them.

Re: Brut Force U-Joints

They break like most others.....I use only non-greasable Spicers when ever I can. I have a Brute-Force in my front axle right now. Was what I had in the tool box so it is what got used. It seems to be holding up all-right.

Re: Brut Force U-Joints

I've got 20k mi on my brute force's with the V8 and 35's, no lockers though. Definitely worth the extra $5 ea, I replaced all 4 of my stock ones with 'em

Re: Brut Force U-Joints

Not too bad if there's a yoke left to put them in. I have never broken one, but my brother used to break them every 6 months. He said he has over 2 years on a Spicer joint, no breakage and still going strong.

Re: Brut Force U-Joints

THEY SUCK!!!!!!!!! What good is a warranty when you break a u-joint and it tears up a Detroit locker, or a ring and pinion gear.
I thought I was being thrifty by trying to get one over on Auto Zone. Too bad the joke was on me. I broke the Brute Force joint and the power transfer flattened the ring gear that took the teeth off of the pinion gear. What a mess in the diff housing!
Now I got Dana 60's and my problems will probably be shifted elsewhere, I hope.
My experience is get genuine spicer stuff. Hope this helps. Ricky...seeya...

Re: Brut Force U-Joints

I've busted the needles in them on a regular basis till I went to the 60!! Their cheap and have a good warrenty, but not worth the hassle in an axle joint...

Re: Brut Force U-Joints

Napa Super Strength. They're black, they're expensive, and they're worth every penny. Remember that a blown u-joint in the axle knuckle usually takes the axle with it - that's the real expense. Do the full circlip conversion and use Napa Super Strength and you won't have problems. - Chuck
