Clicking Noise

Ok so I went 4 wheeling Saturday, went through a little mud, pretty deep actually. Enough to cover the steering linkage and everything. So I was driving the jeep a little last night and I heard a clicking / popping noise coming from what sounds like the passenger side front. The noise wasn't constant and it seemed if I turned it would go away. I am going to clean all the mud off and look for the culprit. I noticed that the crappy hubs on the Dana 30 are coming loose again. Maybe it could be related, but it was in 2wd and hubs free-wheeling. It doesn't sound serious now but I don't want it to get worse. Just curious if anyone had experienced anything similar and wondering what it turned out to be. For all I know it could be a stick clicking the holes on the wheels (like a baseball card on a bike). Thanks,

Re: Clicking Noise

check your wheel bearings! i had one lock-up at 60 mph, talk about scary! what happened was the bearings were running in muddy water and destroyed themselves. hope this helps! matt
