Body Lift and Vibes?

I was reading some posts on 1" body lifts and people were reporting that they were getting driveshaft vibes as a result. ( Some were lowering the transfer and others installing Motor mount lifts as well.)

I was under the impression that a body lift would not change the drive line angles at all, so why is this an issue.

I plan to add a 1" Poly-Body lift to my YJ, but I've just now got rid of the vibes I acquired during the installation of my 4" Superlift.

What gives?

Can't possibly think of any reason there would be any vibration coming from a body lift. I think that there might have been a misunderstanding some where in the transfer of knowledge from one to the other.... I have lifted several Jeep body’s with 1" and 2" body lifts and never experienced a vibration after.

Re: Body Lift and Vibes?

I just installed Daystar's new 1 piece body mount, 1" lift set this weekend. I haven't noticed any additional vibes or anything. The only difference I've noticed is it's a bit louder, as there's a little more room (about 1" for the sound to escape from.

Did you use the Polyurethane replacement bushings or a puck style lift?

Re: Body Lift and Vibes?

Depending on what material you use and how high a lift...
Some people have reported that they feel more vibrations being transfered throughout the Jeep from tires, engine... just all the normal vibrations that any vehicle has. Using a lift material that is too hard can amplify these normal vibrations. I couldn't see it being a problem with only a 1" lift.
