Need Seats any ideas???

I need to get seats in my Jeep. Does any one have some suggestions on what to get seats out of to use? and how hard is it to modify seat mounts and everything else? Any help is greatly appreciated... Thanks....

I'll probably get flamed for this like I did when I said I used seat belts from a Toyota, But here it goes anyway. I went down to the local u pull it yard and found a nice set of bucket seats out of an early 90's Mazda 323. I only had to drill new holes in the old seat brackets and they fit right in. They recline, have adj lumbar and headrest and only cost me $20 for the pair.

Actually junkyard seats are the way to go...

Avoid Bestop seats. Their tops are the best, but they went a little overboard in the padding department for their seats. Too much of a good thing. They sit great, but are too high. Will make your knees hit the dash.

Re: Need Seats any ideas???

Wheelerfreak, no flaming on using Japanese seats, I have mid 80s RX-7 seats in my CJ-7. Like yours, they were virtually a bolt in, and adjustable lumbar, recline and adjustable headrests..

Re: Need Seats any ideas???

When you guys are going to these U-pull-it yards , are you seeing many seats in vinyl ? When ever I go I always see them in cloth , and usually the windows are busted out of the cars and the seats are soaked . I think it was Chuck Hadley or something , he posted a pic of his CJ here recentley with some donor seats and they had stationary headrests but slots for dual harness`s to go through . It looked very pro .
