Re: BBS Jamboree - Southern States

I live in KC, MO. I don't know any good places, haven't gone on any trips yet, but i'm ready and willing. I'm definitely interested, as long as it's within about 500 miles. I drove straight thru to Vegas once, 23 hrs, gambled for 36 hrs, and drove straight back for 23 hrs. That sucked A$$ so i limit myself to 500 til the effect of that one wears off.

Well Muddy, I'm north of you. But still in southern Alabama. Would you believe it will still take you 3 hours to drive from my hometown of Elba/Enterprise to Mobile.

There are several on down in FL, I think a few from Auburn, I think Robert89YJ is from Atlanta, one that I know of from LA, I think a few from the FL panhandle(John), DRM from TN, I think InfantryYJ is stationed in Albany(but I think he will probably try to make the other east coast trip), and that is all I can recall.

Re: BBS Jamboree - Southern States

DRM told me of a spot in north AL, but you might as will just go to Tellico if you go there. It would probably take you less time to get to Tellico. This place was in the way boonies, and you could just spit over the AL/TN line.

We probably need to focus on an established place and not "try" a new one out. That would limit us to Tellico, Blairsville, etc. etc. Or we could just ask around and find somewhere more suitable....Someone said that they used to go in Appalachacola Natl Forest.

Re: BBS Jamboree - Southern States

Wish I could remember who it was, but for the life of me I can't. We will just have to ask around. I will get out my Delorme Topo Quads for FL and take a look around App. Natl Forest as well.

I remember him saying, "If you go, I hope you like mud." That place drains just about the whole extreme southeastern corner of the US.

Re: BBS Jamboree - Southern States

Depending on where and when I'll try to make any run. I am going to try to make the Uhwarrie run over Easter weekend and the Tellico run the first week of May. Just keep the post up.
