Re: tj gas tank in a cj

Probably wouldn't fit without some extensive frame modifications. A CJ frame is about 4" narrower than a TJ frame. The gas tank on both fits between the rear frame rails, so this would pose a problem. Probably the only way to make sure would be to get out the good old tape measure and head down to the local Jeep delearship at night(for some reason the closest one to me doesn't like it when I show up to take measurements, that is why I go to the other one). See if it will fit and start fabbing. There are several people here who have TJ fillers one thier CJ/YJ tubs with TJ flares so that part can be done.

Have you checked out Aerotank. They offer bolt in replacement steel tanks for most all SWB Jeeps and many with larger than stock capacities. Look in a 4x4 mag to find their address, b/c I can't remember.
