Help w/ HEI drive gear

I have put a HEI on 258's before and never had any trouble. So now I talked my brother into putting one on his 85 CJ-7. He went out and got a HEI, ordered the drive gear from 4WDHardware. Now, here is the problem, the hole in the drive gear isn't lining up, it is like the hole has been drilled off center just enough that he can't drive the roll pin thru the other side.
Has anyone else ever had this happen???

Re: Help w/ HEI drive gear

I would return the drive gear - things happen. The hole should be on center, both on the gear and on the distributor. Check the distributor too. I would return the gear first. If the new gear does the same thing, go get a 'nother 'strib.

Good luck
Pete
