Who has done the Nutter bypass?

I've seen this floating around alot and I've been researching it this morning. The original Off Road.com post mentions having to use Premium fuel after doing the bypass, but the Nutter site doesn't mention this. Just wanted some opinions from those who have had experience with this mod. Do the pro's outway the cons? What are the cons? Any better milage? I'm going to go do it temperarily before work and try it out but the feedback will be helpful, praises and horror stories. Thanx

Re: Who has done the Nutter bypass?

I tried it on mine several years ago before I bought the Weber. IMO it is not a good idea. It ran VERY rich at and just off idle, and the performance was no different. Waste of time, just get a better carb.

Re: Who has done the Nutter bypass?

I did it to my 83 because it wouldn't even idle. It help mine idle smoother, better gas mileage, and performance. I ran it that way for about 16 months and then went to the Motorcraft 2100 and HEI. I done it to 3 CJs, 1 YJ in the last year and the all like it. I did run premium gas because you can advance the timing up which caused it to ping on a long pull up hills.
