Re: SYE KIT

well i have ordered one from tom woodhttp://www.4xshaft.com. he doesn't make them but sells them with his driveshafts to make up his "short shaft kit". you will be needing a longer collapsing shaft after the SYE and tom has a good price of $600 for both with a $75 core when you send back transcase parts. all shipping paid for new and core.what kind of lift do you have to fit the 33's and what are you doing to make rear shaft work without an SYE? just curious!

Re: SYE KIT

Steve,
I have a 3 1/2" SoftRide by Superlift.I've shimmed the rearend (i forget what degree shims they are) and lowered the transfer case 1".Even with this combo the vibration bugs the crap out of me.In my opinion this lift would be better suited for 32" tires max.I've had the drive shaft balanced, that didn't help.So if your going to put 33's on a jeep I guess you have to have the SYE kit.

Re: SYE KIT

It's not the tires, it's the driveline. Even with 32's you still have the suspension lifted 3.5". I have 35's and it rides smooth, no vibration at all. I didn't go for all suspension though, and thats why. A lot changes when you raise the suspension over about 2". I haven't used a SYE yet, but everything i've read, in here and on the net, has said that would fix you're vibration problem.

'00 TJ,2" susp.,2" body, K&N performance inject, Gibson Cat Back, D30, D35 w/Super 35 30 spline axle kit w/detroit locker,Jet chip, 35" Super Swampers

Re: SYE KIT

ok with lowering the transcase 1" you have bettered the shaft angle but put it closer to the rocks! i am trying to avoid lowering what i wanted to lift-but there has to be some give and take i believe. with the suspension lift you are raising everything except the axles. no matter the tire size the distance from axle to frame doesn't change nor does the shaft angle. check out tom woods site as he has a lot of technical explanations.
