gears and short throw

I have two questions.
First off I am getting ready to put on a 4in currie lift, which means 33" bfg muds. I want to run either 4.10's or 4.56's. I like power and torque alot. I want to have atleast as much as I have now with my 28's and 3.07's. I don't drive much over 65 so I don't think the rpm's would be a problem (5-speed). Should I do the 4.56's or should I do 4.10's and some engine upgrades or what?

Another question is who makes short throw for my 93 4.0 jeep 5-speed? I hate the throw on it. I put one in my old lifted toyota and it made a world of difference.. hopeing to do the same here.. thanks

4.56 for sure, BUT are you sure you want to spend that much on those stock axles, and that weak T5? ( I assume they are stock, but I dont know what they are or what rig, since you dont have that info in your profile)

a shifter from a MUSTANG T5 MIGHT fit your tranny, who knows.

Re: gears and short throw

For a '93 YJ you will have the AX15. Hurst makes a shifter, try 4WDH for a supplier.

As far as gears goes. The 4.11 will put you back as close to stock as possible. The 4.56 will be a bit stout. If you want to go a little lower than stock you might try and find a set of 4.27's. They might be a little more to your liking, but I'm not sure if they are made for the D30/35 combo in a YJ.
