Where does it go?

On my 88YJ, I have a black hose about 3/8"OD it is on the driver's side inside the hood and it is tied with plastic
ties to the power steering lines and has plastic cap in it,
the cap looks like a vent, the hose run down and is hanging loose next to the frame. I thought it may be a vent line for the axle, I can't find where it goes, thanks for any help.

Re: Where does it go?

it is a vent hose for the axle it probably connects to the brake line tee on top of the axle thats what my cj rear is like but you better fix it before you play in the mud or you will wipe out the diff

Re: Where does it go?

Look towards the top on the passenger side of the back of the differential. At least that's where it is on my 90. The hole is somewhat recessed, so it's hard to find when you look from the side.

If it is just a vent what is there that needs to be fixed, I have the same thing on my 90 258. What needs to be done with it?

Re: Where does it go?

should come from the back side of the front diff. there is also a vent on the trans case that runs up into the engine bay, but that vent usually ends up on the firewall.
