cj rubber extended brake lines?

anyone know the application (year and make) for some rubber extended brake lines for an 84 cj-8? i think i read on someones website that something like a late 70's ford F-150 has the same fittings on each end as the cj front hoses, but are about 6" or so longer. any help on this is appreciated. i am getting ready to do an SOA on my scrambler and currently trying to get all the parts rounded-up. thanks again for any information! matt

Re: cj rubber extended brake lines?

I went to Napa and they looked up the ends I needed, and had 22" lines in stock(my originals were 15"), they were from a chevy of some type. When I get home I can look up the number if still needed.

Take the one you have to a good parts store, they have a pictorial section in the books and it gives the different lenghts, in each style.

Re: cj rubber extended brake lines?

Find an industrial shop that builds hoses for hydraulic equipment. They can build them to any length you need. You may need to bring your old hose in for them to reuse the hose ends.

Re: cj rubber extended brake lines?

I have NEVER found one that will build brake lines. Too much liability. Hydraulic hoses are fine, but no brake lines.

Re: cj rubber extended brake lines?

That's been my experience also. If you tell them that they are brake lines they say no way.

Re: cj rubber extended brake lines?

I think I used some that were meant for a Chrysler minivan's rear brakes, the ends were exact matches for my CJ7's old brake lines and they are plenty long.

No problems with them and I have a 4" SUA,1" body and 3/4" shackle lift.
