I am a dumb a$$

Well, I went to install my new driveshafts, and noticed that I had to fix the rear pinion angle due to the cv driveshaft, so I welded new perches on only to find out that now the rear driveshaft is 3/4" too long now. Everytime I think i'm going to have it finished, something happens that puts me back a week. Don't mind me, I'm just venting my frustrations. argggggggggggggggggggggggg

Re: I am a dumb a$$

Maybe you could drill new holes in the perches 3/4" back. The best way to learn is from mistakes, it's not the cheapest way though. Good luck.

Re: I am a dumb a$$

I already shipped the new driveshaft back for them to shorten.

How could you tell it was too long ? Did you account for droop and compression ? The perches shouldn't be wrong, they only go 1 way.

The faster I go, the behinder I get

Re: I am a dumb a$$

Well it wouldn't compress enough to put it on. I originally measured 17.5", but after I fixed the pinion angle, it is now 16 3/4" which is the exact size of the shaft at full compression.

Re: I am a dumb a$$

So you are allowing 3/4" for total compression. Is that right ? ...Thats not much compression, at that angle, for a new lift.

If it comes with instructions, then it's not what the pros use.

Re: I am a dumb a$$

It's actually an old lift that's like driving with no suspension. And actually if you think about it, when you compress the rear, it won't come forward, it can only move further away because of the shackles in the rear.
