Clutch cable

A friend's 1970 CJ5 (v6/t-14) has a clutch cable that is on it's last legs. Does anyone know of a source for new cables ? Everyone around here tells him that Jeeps never used a cable or that they are discontinued. As an alternative has anyone used the chain type linkage that Advance Adapters sells. If so how well does it work and how big of a PITA is it to install ? Hydaulic isn't really an option cause I am going to have to do it for him and I don't have time to fabricate a setup at this point in time.

Re: Clutch cable

I have been running the AA chain linkage on my 225 T14 for some time now, and wonder why I hadn't converted years ago. No more broken cable ends (used to carry spares in the glove box) and no more frayed and binding cables. It's an easy install and well worth the $$. A lot smoother action.
