Ford 5.0L conversion info

I've received quite a few emails about headers for the 5.0L swap I did
in my 82 CJ-7, and I wanted to pass along some info that I just
discovered. I bought my original in-frame conversion headers from
Advance Adapter and I paid ~$200 for them, which is extremely pricey
considering what they are - plain steel headers, IMO. The headers that
they sell for the conversion are in actuality Ford Motor Sport headers
(now Ford Racing and Performance Products, FRPP) that are readily
available from Summit Racing for substantially less. Plain steel, FRPP
PN: M-9430-S302, $139, JetHot coated, FRPP PN: M-9430-T302, $229.
These are shorty, block hugger headers that'll require some minor
trimming of the motor mounts where they bolt to the block if you are
using the MORE bombproof conversion mounts (PN: JM 500, $205), which I
highly recommend, or the over-priced, poorly designed crap that Z&M
sells as a motor mount kit, which I suggest that anyone avoid like the
plague.
