Life expectancy of the 4.0

what the life span of 4.0? does it get up to a certain amount of miles before known things need to be replaced/rebuilt, i found a 94 wrangler with one for 1500 bucks, so i figure i could buy it for the motor and tranny, and piece out the rest... but it says high miles.. so is like over 150K considerd junk and how much would it be to rebuild it..i could use the 4.2L block right if i wanted to replace it, and use the head and everything else to fit,? thanks!

I believe that the price you're paying is close to the cost of the MOPAR EFI alone.

Figures don't lie ....... but liars sure do figure.

I don't have a 4.0 but some of my friends do and they have over 200,000 mile on them and they still run good.

Re: Life expectancy of the 4.0

My dads cherokee has 300 K on it and other than needing the throtal body to be cleaned it runs like a top. Doesn't burn oil or leak any. Then again it was owned by an old couple who used it to drive between two cities so Its all highways miles.

I need to get a girlfriend I'm getting to close to my jeep.
