Shackel reversal ??

I know this has been beat to death - But, I am going to buy - which one do I want?? I am tired of fighting this thing trying to keep it between the ditches. Since the 4" lift it is a handful. I need some experienced input on this.

Re: Shackel reversal ??

The MORE is supposed to be a great kit. Let us know how it is after the install. I am considering that SR also.

By the way, there was a guy here selling his MORE SR new in box last week for a CJ7. You were just a little late or early or something.

Did the M.O.R.E. SRS buggy kit, and all the brackets are beefy and go on easily. They make some great stuff.

What exactly is a buggy spring setup? I've never quite understood. I've seen pictures, but how does it work and what are the benifits?

Re: Shackel reversal ??

I have the MORE kit and it's a high quality, very well made kit. If you can hold off for a month or so, MORE is coming out with some "stubby" front spring hangers for the kit which are 1.5" shorter than the hangers in the original kit.

Re: Shackel reversal ??

Dean;
What is the advantage of the shorter/stubby spring hangers than in the orginal kit? Thanks, Duane

Re: Shackel reversal ??

The stubbies don't stick down as far from the frame as the originals do, so there's much less potential for hanging them up on something, and there's no need for cross bracing. They keep the springs tucked safely up under the frame. Plus, I think that they look a lot cleaner than the originals. I plan on changing over to them as soon as they hit the market. MORE has a poll posted at their site to see how many folks are interested in the stubbies. You might want to let them know about your interest in them. MORE may not wait another month to make them available if there's enough interest.

Re: Shackel reversal ??

The "buggy kit" also 3/4 elliptical allows the short leaf spring to pull away from the frame for a couple extra inches of travel when under max extension. A lot of people do it for the rear as well. It's also kinda like the missing link systems but with a 18" +/- leaf spring instead of square tubing. It seems to work pretty good for me.
