suspenion tricks

it's been a year since i made my front suspension.. it was my own design. and i never saw anything like it, so i was a bit apprehensive about it..
here are my thoughts... OH YEAH.... i like it.. i am going to make the 3rd one of this design this weekend.. this time to a are some pics of why it works.. the first is how it sits normally with weight on the vehicle...notice the front driveshaft is very close to totally compressed. the second shows the movement of the shackle and how far the driveshaft goes..the shackle actually swings a bit more when the other side is on a rock..

i'm not saying this is for everyone, but it sure works good for me.

Hey Elusive, looks good!! I have a great idea, why don't I just send the 18 wheeler full of peices of my '69, and you can finish it up for me. I would really like to have it back in a couple of weeks. I could take a trip to Moab for spring break, see how it works and then send it back to you for any bugs to be worked out. Whaddya think?

'69 CJ5 225 V6 - currently involved in a massive rebuild. I keep telling myself great JEEP's are built not bought, but it seems as if I am doing both!!

Re: suspenion tricks

Interesting shackle pivot...I got my basic idea from a pro monster truck builder, I've never seen it on anything else.

I'd like to show you how it's built...but then I'd have to kill ya. ; )
