lift kits & drivetrain

okay, i've been having all kind of trouble with my drivetrain. first the rearend went out and now the transmission sounds like its about to fall out. the people at truck essentials said that aftermarket companies DO NOT recommend suspension lifts with body lifts, which i have 2" of each, why? could that be the cause of my endless problem? also if my backlash is off on the ring gear would that make it jerky and clunk when shifting?

Re: lift kits & drivetrain

There could be all kinds of reasons for the clunking. (yes ring and pinion too)
The body lift will have nothing to do with drivetrain problems though.

Re: lift kits & drivetrain

what possible problem could both lifts have with each other? i didn't think the two had anything to do with each other, but i'm pretty new to this stuff(if you couldn't tell, haha)

Re: lift kits & drivetrain

they are just passing on what they have read.. they obviously have no experience in the matter and i would avoid going there.. you can tell a poor shop because they dont tell you the "why" just the "dont do it"
