TH400 to D300 Adapter... WHats involved? THanks

Hey all,

WHen I put my Chevy and TH400 in my CJ in October I couldn't find the right adapter for the D300 that i had. So I went with the D20 Tcase cause I had an adapter.

Talking to someone last night i might be able to pick up a D300 adapter really cheap. Whats involved? Does the trans have to be takin apart? Any info would be greatful. Thanks.

My brother put a 300 on his T400 in his Comando. I think you may need to shorten the output shaft by about an inch. His was a 2 wheel drive tranny to start but I think you still need to shorten the 4x4 shaft. Call Avance Adapters, they can tell you exactly what need to be done.

the advance adapters' kit comes with a new tail shaft, yes you will need to take the tranny apart to install it

I had 2 TH400/D300 conversions done, and yes the transmission has to be taken apart, and a new output shaft installed.
I used Novak adapters because they are slightly shorter than Advanced Adapters
