Rochester for $150 or Weber for $360

Ok, I have finally settled on the fact that I cannot get the Rochester for less than $150, thankyou to those who helped me find it with O'reilly's but by the time I had it shipped here it would cost the same as I can get it for here.
So I checked into the Weber one last time before ordering the Roch from Advance Autoparts. Man the Weber sounds great, but the price does not. I am on a limited budget so I really like the price on the Roch but if the Weber would give better performance I am willing to save up.

Motorcraft2100 if you are rockcrawling. No other carb will run as well in off camber situations.

Well, neither crawlin or racing alone. I live in Florida so there are not many rocks to climb. But someday... Right now I would be happy if it would idle and keep up at highway speeds, I really can hardly go 55.

Sounds pretty good. Why are you selling? I already ordered a Rochester, but I could probably sell it if the Weber is better. 32/36 or 38?

Rochester 2G, hands down. For the money, you can't get better. In fact, you can't even get a new carter BBD for that! :-) You will feel the difference in all gears, especially if your Carter is on its way out.

Re: Rochester for $150 or Weber for $360

Just curious CJ7Jed,

I read your your previous post about the R.2G and curious if everything is a direct bolt-up (i.e. air clearner and manifold). I am seriously considering this swap since it's so cheap. Also, do you know the difference between the cheap Rochester (someone stated that it was $89) and the ($130)? Thanks for any feedback. Note: this would be for my 82 258 non-computerized bear.
