What!! Polishing Alum. 10 resp...Dist. ? 3 pleaz

So I'm on this forum that usually boast function over cosmetics, and I ask a specific question about timing advances and the distributer, yet the "polishing aluminum" receive three times the response that my question got. What's up with that!! I'm trying to get my Jeep running right while someone else is trying to make the timing cover look pretty and they get all the press. I'm not saying that the latter was a bad question, heck, I read all the responses hoping to learn something. I just wish we could concentrate on my problems a bit more >

1. Don't bite the hand the feeds you... civility should be paramount. It's always nice to be important (even our questions) but it's more imortant to be nice.
2. I've been working on a response for the last several hours for your question that will make some sense.
3. At the same time I've been working on an answer on the Torque Converter Question.
4. At the same time I've been working with Joey on his clutch cable problem.
5. In my Spare time I've been working and up for the last 37 hours straight.
6. So, in short... aw heck...I just filed your anser in the round file.
7. See Item 1.

Awe heck LEVE, I was just playin' around. Didn't want to spill any blood...just bored on a Sunday and tearing into the ignition woes. On top of that, I'm always nice...sometimes it just shows better than at other times. If you read my post again, you will see that I was simply poking fun at the situation and not legitimately PO'd by anything. As a matter of fact, I have the shiny aluminum corner guards on my Jeep (functionally covering holes of sorts) and have often wondered what I could use to make them shine. I would still love to hear anything you have to say on distributers, especially pertaining to what happens relative to TDC with both of the advance mechanisms.

Geezzee, I've been up 38 hours now, and now I gotta take the response out of the round file and get back to work.... Oh well, at least I can eat a little humble pie washed down with a coke.

Maybe it's cuz rubbing metal with an abrasive or compound to make it shine is a heck of an easier 'no brainer' question to answer than to expound on the intricatsies of ignition timing...
Keep squeeking. Maybe someone will grease your wheel.

BTW: My shiny timing cover stands in front of a very well running mill.
To have both is sweet ...

Er....didn't I post to that distributor question? I thought the posts that were in response covered it pretty well......that is without beginning with the REAL basics, like Intake-Compression-Power-Exhaust.
