OT- New Tahoe vs Durango or Sequoia

I'm thinking about getting a new truck. My preference is 7+ passanger seating and towing capabilities (so I can tow my CJ7 when I'm finished with it). I don't have a trailer right now, and I'm not sure if and when I'll be getting one. The problem with a trailer is parking, my CJ under a deck so I have limited hight. Plus by the time I'm done I'll 4"+ of lift and 35" tires, so we'll see.

Right now I'm tossing between 3 trucks:

Toyota Sequoia (which is new so I'm not sure anyone has any experience with it)
Chevy Tahoe
Dodge Durango

Cost for all 3 is relatively close. The truck will be used for a daily commute of 90 miles round trip which ends up being approx 2-2.5 hours total a day. So I'm looking for something with a nice ride.

All three would have fine 4x4 systems for the snow in the Northeast. Right now, I'm not anticipating using this as an off-road vehicle.

1986 CJ7, Chevy 350, D44/D30, more to come shortly

Well, I would eliminate the Durango. It has the least powerful engine of the bunch & not the greatest tranny in the World. Couple of strikes right there as far as "tow vehicle" goes. Read up on the Sequoia. It has a really weird traction control system. I think this might be enough to make the decision. If this sounds like what you want, go for it. Otherwise, it sounds like there's a Tahoe/Yukon in your future. Just my $.02.

Re: OT- New Tahoe vs Durango or Sequoia

We recently bought a 2000 Yukon after looking at the Durango, Tahoe and
Yukon. Last two are the same except for external looks... The Yukon/Tahoe
are definitely bigger/roomier then the Durango (remember its based on the Dakota). Our Yukon will easily tow as much, if not more, then my 1/2 ton Ram.

Get the Tahoe!!! Have you ever driven one? MUCH improved over the older body style (even though that was pretty good) It feels like it has the turning raduis of a wrangler, rides like a cadillac, and can tow as much as a truck...sounds good to me.
