FuelMax - any 1st hand experience?

Hi there,

a Q:

does anybody have any 1st hand experience with FuelMax, a system that allegedly saves up to 20% of gas-consumption?

http://www.irdusa.com/products/fuelmx/index.html

I am extremely sceptical, but would like to get some real experiences...

thanks
alfred

Yeah I got one a couple months ago for my CJ. I don't know about the 20% better fuel economy they are claiming but I will say it made my engine run a little smoother. NOthing major but I could tell it was running a little better. As far as the gas milage??? I don't know my exact mile per gallon but I would say it did increase it a mile or so per gallon. Not enough to get you to that next station down the road but every little bit helps right??? Hope that helps. A small investment and it is one thing that actaully CAN'T break on the jeep

Well the FuelMax ones are like 60 dollars or more but all they really are, are strong magnets. So if you look in JC Whitney you will find the exact same thing that is only 20 bucks. I have the FuelMax one and my buddy has the WHitney one and they have the exact same magnetism for them and everything. Save yourself the money and just get the JC Whitney one. Hope that helps ya out.

Better yet, save your money and don't buy one at all. I looked at the website, what a hoot! One of the best examples of pseudoscientific gobblygook I've seen in quite awhile. To think people are still falling for this after all these years. Any performance or mileage increases are purely imaginary.

Well even if they didn't work like they say they do they do have an alternate use... Since they are just high powered magnets they catch all the little metal rust flakes that are in your gas lines before they can get to the engine. Lot like this is huge or anything but will help in preventing a clogged jet, with all the rust in your tank from old gas tanks
