Rear shackle hitting frame, what fix?

I have a 2.5" lift with the stock shackles in the back hitting the frame at full compression but I still have 2" between the bump stops. Could I just replace the rear shackles with longer ones (still got factories up front)and if yes how much longer? Would a Currie Boomerang type work better? I got good flex up front. I'm trying to mach it in the back.

The boomerang shackles will give you more room for flex. How much I don't know, but they do work well.

OK, so how would it mount? Would the elbow point forward or backward? If it's backward wouldn't the cross bolt hit the frame first and the spring eye would be lifted about an inch? That would work opposite to what I need. But, maybe the longer length would let the springs to compress more anyway. Thoughts?

They are mounted with the elbow going forward and the spring eye behind it. You had the right thought process going, just didn't complete it.
