HELP my tj wipers don\'t work!

My windshield wipers on my 97 tj quit. I turned them on they moved to vertical and stopped. I checked the fuse to rule it out, its fine. I have had trouble a few times before with the wipers, I would turn them on and they wouldn't work. I would shut them off and then back on, and they would be fine. I have to think it is a swithch or possibly a relay. I don't think it is mechanical, because I don't hear the motor running when I turn them on. If it matters, I don't have the fancy delay only two speeds high and low.

Hey jjh40!

It is probably the sending unit. The 97s were notorious for problems with those. My bosses wife once pulled up to the dealership on a sunny day with the top off in their 97 TJ with the wipers going. The sending unit was the culprit. A few weeks later they would not switch on. The sending unit again. Feast or famine I guess Not sure how to fix it, those were fixed under warranty.

I've never heard of a sending unit on wipers. Does anybody else know anything about this.

Hey jjh40!

Sorry, your right. It is the control module not the sending unit. Way to go on my first post, look like a total dummy! Duh!
