How strong is the carrier in the AMC 20

is there a strength different between the open dif carrier and the track lock carrier?

i had a track lock and wanted to use it with a lock right since it could handle larger gears that the open dif that can only handle the 2.73

i seem to remmber someone saying that the traclock carrier was weaker than the normal carrier? is this accurate??

thanks

Could be wrong, but the Lock Right won't work with the Trac-Lok carrier. There is only one Locker that will, but it's fairly new and I don't know anything about it.

Same deal. Trac-loc carriers cannot be used with lock-rights, powr loc etc. AMC20's have two different regular(open) carriers. One for 2.73 gears and another for higher number (lower gears).

Pigpen,

powertrax company does makes a "no-slip" locker for the traclock carrier...kinda like an improved version of the lockright

i have the traclock carrier...i was just checking to see if anyone knew strength of it compared to the regular open carrier....

anyone????

Re: How strong is the carrier in the AMC 20

Now this is just my opinion, but thinking this thru, it would seem logical that the Track Lock carrier would be stronger seeing as it is already built to handle a traction aiding device, the Track Lock itself.

Learn something new everyday. Yeah I'd stick with the trac loc carrier. Thanks for the info.
