Fix-it list

I was in a meeting yesterday (one of LEVE's type) and bored out of my skull. So I compiled a list of all Jeep items needing attention. This didn't include the big stuff like lockers and junk. Here's my list in no order:
* Mount fire extingisher --- How do you guys do it?
* Buy defroster hose
* Buy heater floor vent
* Replace worn steering shaft parts
* Wire in power outlet (cig. lighter)
* Test stereo (hosed it while cleaning tub)
* Find TFI coil in junkyard for TR phase 2
* Replace broken Ign. module connectors
* Sand/primer/paint rust spots
* Replace rear cross member
* Replace passenger hub with 6-bolt
* Replace all vacuum hoses
* Replace charcol canister
* Sand/paint/re-attach rollcage
* Secure skid plate better
* Build rock-skids/step (nerf bar)
* Dress-up spring packs for softer ride
* Build steering brace
* Buy/install tranny torque bolt
* Fix gauges and lighting
* Build replacement drive line out of square tubing (saw this today!)

This will ALL be done when I find a spare dollar and a minute to go with it. Please tell me I'm not the only crazy one here!

Re: Fix-it list

I wish my list were that small, at least your jeep is sitting on all 4.

Re: Fix-it list

I like the list. I keep one on my computer for the Jeep. It has let me keep things in perspective, and planned short jobs on the days it may rain in the afternoon. I hated starting the weber install in the sun, and finishing it in the rain.
May I suggest something and ask a question?
Steering shaft: Replace the bearing in the bottom of the column, best thing I ever did.
Charcoal Canister: If you find one cheap, ask for a second one, Mine is toasted and it was mega bucks for a replacement.
I did the six bolt hubs about 3 weeks ago. They are great upgrades.

Re: Fix-it list

My list used to be about that long...
Now this is all I have left:
Wheels and tires
Lockright for rear
Xenon flares
Nerf bars
Drivers seat
Diamond plate side panels.
The list is about 1/3 of what it used to be...Although it looks like I save the most expensive stuff for last...How did I do that?

Re: Fix-it list

That's a good list, very do-able and a good way to make a meeting productive. If a man can eat a elephant one bite at time... then that's the way to fix a Jeep... one job at a time. I like it!

Safe Jeepin'

Re: Fix-it list

I have my fire extingishers mounted on my roll bar with large radiator clamps one on each side right behind the seats just above the rear wheel wells.By the way you can get two fire extingishers with mounting brackets from Costco for $15.00 thats the cheapest that I've seen.
