tires don\'t fit

I have a 92 YJ with a dana44 front from a Waggie and a scout Dana44 in rear. I recently put on an OME 2.5inch lift. I also just put on a set of 33x10.50 BFG ATs. My problem is that the tires barely fit. I need to trim the fenders a little. The new TJ flares are about 1/2 inch wider than mine, and I believe the opening is bigger as well. Are there any other manufacturers fender flares that will fit (ford, chevy, whatever). I need an additional inch in width. I guess I could change the wheel backspace, but...?

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

TIA

Re: tires don\'t fit

the openings are bigger. put the TJ flare and trim as much as possbible. whatever you cant trim paint black so you can't see it underneath. A M.O.R.E shackle reversal will lift the front another inch I think. I got a 1" body lift for $55 bucks. you could do that too.

the tj flares should be good if not, you could make some shackles, or buy them get a 1" lift shackle that should be the max, maybe a 1/2", what ever works.

I believe that the OME kit is designed for only 31's. I have also heard that it will sag, a lot. Just keep that in mind when you do the cutting. More is better. You also might want a 1" bodylift, that is the maximum body lify you should use. I hope you enjoy the ride for the investment you made in those springs!

Re: tires don\'t fit

those springs should handle more than 31s. I got 31s with NO LIFT. and BFGs are some of the bigger 31" tires. M.O.R.E ramped 950 with their shacke reversal, 1" body lift, OME 2.5" lift, boomerang shackles on a YJ with 33x9.5" tires.

Re: tires don\'t fit

It's probably too late to tell ya know, but if you'd dropped another $50 they would have sent you 4 rear spring packs so you wouldn't end with the front-end sag. OME makes a 1" add-a-leaf for their lift kits that they claim will not affect ride quality or articulation.

A front shackle-reversal and rear extended shackle would be a nice combo too.
