Will this work ?

My starter went out on my 88 wrangler. I priced one at Discount for $90. I thought that was high so I asked him to look one up for a 77 cj5 with the 258 straight six. He said 30 dollars with a 14 dollar core. Will this starter work on my 88, or is there something different?

I don't know. I believe there is a ford starter that will bolt up. Just go
to the auto parts store and have them pulling ford starters and match it up.
Just don't forget to count the teeth on the starter drive. Also remember most parts houses will not honor the lifetime warranty on that starter since they consider it a misaplication of the starter. More food for thought. Autozone will only replace thier lifetime warranty parts twice and the third time they refund your money.

It's not what you bought,
it's what you built and
what you do with it!
