Re: D Rings

Well, I just got a set for Christmas, and they're weld-on, and have a load rating of 46,000 pounds, so about 23 tons. They cost about $15 locally, or $11 mail order.

Re: D Rings

Any truck supply/repair facility should have them....I found them at a local Peterbuilt center, trailer supply store, general truck supply place.

Look in your yellow pages under trucks. I have seen them called Lashing Rings as well.

Re: D Rings

I don't think the strength of the ring is the question......but the qulity of the weld holding it in place. I have lashing rings on all four corners of my truck. Stick welded in place for the long haul. Most any trailer place will have them for a resonable price. Magnum trailer(which means expensive)had them for 8.00 dollars.

Re: D Rings

VERY true. Luckily I have a 220V Mig that'll weld 3/8", which is what holds the ring in place. A truck place may weld it for you as well.

Re: D Rings

While we are on the subject. Does anybody know where to find stainless steel D rings? I was looking for the one with the 3/4" bolt(I think they size them by this). Got mine for Lowes. I think that the stainless on black bumpers would look nice. That way it will look more normal when I put on my rocker guards with stainless bolts.
