rear main seal

am going to replace rear main seal in 258 tonite any helpfull hints

Be prepared to remove the passenger side motor mount to get to the oil pan bolt. Otherwise nothing to recommend other than make sure you get the seal in correctly...Good Luck.

Everyday travel is off-roading in this town....

Check yesterdays posts, dude. I just did the same work myself and got a lot of great tips on it.

My big tip: have two or three seals handy because unless you've done this before you are bound to shred one or two the first couple of tries.

Oh, and definitely loosen the next three bearing caps back otherwise you'll never push that old sucker out! [img]/wwwthreads_images/icons/tongue.gif[/img]
