Re: Jeep on the Beach

IN2DEEP, what lift are you using? Your jeep is very similar to mine, only much taller.

Re: Jeep on the Beach

All that chrome, how bout all of you guys with your chrome covered, bulavard crusing sand jeeps come and bog with the mudslinging snow blasting midwest jeeps. Try going through 4' of different consisitency snow, or mud and water over the bumper, I'm sure a chrome bumper and bug guard really help then. I'm just jokin, well sand is fun some of the time but not a lot, maybe when I get my subaru I'll take it to the dunes but I definetally perfer mud and exploring forest roads.

Re: Jeep on the Beach

Glamis has plenty of sand but there is no beach. The CJ is geared way to low for dunes but when your too beat for the bikes its not bad to cruise.

Re: Jeep on the Beach

IN2DEEP, under your pic. it says in NC. Are those the Outer Banks? Love that place. Had a '72 FS Blazer, snow tires with all the air in them dig four nice holes. A little patrol Jeep flattie with the biggest rope I ever saw pulled me out. Thus the off road learning curve began. hehe.

Re: Jeep on the Beach

The lift is a 4 1/2" in SKYJACKER lift, with 1 1/2" lift shackles and 35" BFG M/Ts. I had to lose the lift shackles when I put on the shackle reversal. But I'm hoping to re-work the axle this spring, and get the shackles back.

It's NOT the Outer Banks. I WISH!!. I haven't been there in several years, and since I moved down here to SC I've been dying to get my Jeep in that white sand. Oh... and don't ask me about the rental Explorer that I put into the Alantic Ocean.

This pic was taken at Carolina Beach. It's the SE corner of North Carolina. Shortly after this pic was taken, I had to pull a full sized Bronco ('96??) off of the coast. It was a half-hearted victory. I loved pulling the land barge off the coast before the surf could kill it. But I've always been a fan of Fords......

Thanks for the memories....
(grinning blindly at monitor)

....BTW.... has anybody seen the sun??
