Cleaning combustion chambers-warning

I just thought that i should share this story. Driving home yesterday, I developed a miss in the motor and it shortly died. It turned out that a piece of carbon had lodged between the electrodes of my #3 sparkplug. I pulled them all and brushed them all off, reinstalled them, and it fired right up. I drove home w/o incident. I've been doing TR's washer hose in the carb inlet trick to steam clean my combustion chambers in my 258. To judge by the appearance of the sparkplugs, it is most definatly working. So, be warned. This process might leave you on the side of the road, despite the fact that it seems to work nicely. Re: Cleaning combustion chambers-warning

I gave you fair warning that you could wind up with some pretty gruesome stuff coming out of the chambers....

Try it at highway speeds, 55 or 60 mph, that should stop a lot of the problems...
That will keep good airflow through the chambers, and move most of the stuff out the exhaust valve...

That windshield washer tank trick is slick, isn't it!!
Everybody has one already installed, and water is all but free!

Just don't get carried away with the volume you inject at once, and make sure the engine is warm and turning at a good pace when you push the button....
