Well after a lot of work, the 4.3L fired up tonight. Would have been a sight to see I bet. I temp wired everything, hook up the battery and computer connections and start cranking. And cranking... Damn, what is the problem. Check the computer, no codes. Keep cranking, nope. Check spark, yep. Check fuel, its at the back of the intake, no fuel on the plugs. Hmm. What to do??
Lets try checking the timing while cranking (ha!) so I get the remote starter switch hooked up, hookup the timing light, turn the key to on and start cranking. Light flashes a couple times, BAP BAP BAP of open headers, damn its
Shut it done, remove the timing light and remote starter and re-fire using the starter. Fires up. Plugh! Lots of exhaust in the garage, must be from the engine storage setup the yard did and my pre-lube. Hope this clears up once I let it run for a bit.
The bummer of all of this is that its only on 5 cylinders, as I broke a plug trying to remove it around the header. Argh and the parts stores are closed! Oh well, more to do tomorrow.
Took A long time to work the air out of the lines. Much longer then I would have thought.
